The prolonged operation of GPS services running in the background can significantly impact battery life, which may affect overall user experience.

APS facilitates alarm monitoring for companies utilizing SECURITHOR software (available at http://www.securithor.com). It allows subscribers with compatible iOS devices to send panic alarms that are received by the central station. Upon receiving an alarm, dispatchers can access the user's contact information or dispatch assistance directly to the GPS coordinates provided by the device. The system's "Follow Me" feature automates the transmission of location updates at user-defined intervals, enabling continuous tracking of the device’s GPS route for situational awareness and response coordination.
